Tablet Talk
So today I called this new computer store Tech Pro. I told the operator who answered that I was interested in a small Tablet and she told me that they were not a pharmacy but a technology store. LOL. Well you know I had to set her straight, so I said if you are in the tech business, you should know what Tablet I am referring to and she said sorry and put me on to Sales. So I asked the young man who answered whether they had any Tablets and he immediately said no. But I insisted and said, “Are you sure you don't have any 7" or 10" Tablets, that you listed online” and he said, “Oh you mean an E-reader,” and I said, “No not just an e-reader but a full-fledged Tablet PC,” and he mentioned that he had a View Sonic and put me on hold to check and never came back! So you know I just had to call back to tell them a thing or two about customer service and to try to help them stay in business. The same operator answered and put me on to Sales again and this time a lady answered and she also put me on hold to check with the technician! After a while I redialled and the operator answered and told me I had gotten cut off and she would put me back to Sales. Huh! The sales lady came back on to tell me she had 3 items and in the background I am hearing her call out to ‘Raheem’ presumably the technician asking whether the Dell Mini, Asus, and Blackberry Playbook were 7” Tablets! LMAO. So I thanked her and asked what time the showroom closes, but really thinking to myself that pretty soon their doors may remain closed for good if they don’t get their act together. But then I had a rethink and realized that in today’s world, these ingredients, that is, a feisty operator, sales people lacking knowledge of products they sell, a brick and mortar coupled with an online presence, may actually result in a very successful business. And chances were that one of the four I talked to was the CEO on his or her merry way to making millions. This is a true story.
